Gili Trawangan (often called Gili T or Gili Trawangan) is the largest and busiest of the three islands. It has the biggest range of restaurants, cafes, beach clubs, dive shops and luxury villas.
Even though Gili T has a reputation for nightlife, it can still be incredibly romantic and relaxing if you stay in the right area away from the main strip.
One of the things I love most about Gili T is the variety. You can spend your mornings snorkelling with turtles, relax in a private pool villa during the day and then enjoy sunset drinks by the beach at night and enjoy a beautiful meal in one of the many restaurants.
Accommodation ranges from budget stays through to stunning luxury villas with private pools perfect for couples.
The island is also ideal if you enjoy having plenty of dining options and a more energetic atmosphere while still experiencing island life.

If I had to describe Gili Air in one sentence, I would say it offers the perfect balance between relaxation and atmosphere.
Gili Air is quieter and more peaceful than Gili Trawangan, but still has enough amazing restaurants, cafes and beach bars to keep things interesting.
This island has become incredibly popular with couples looking for a more laid-back island experience without feeling isolated.
The vibe here feels slower, calmer and more authentic. Days are spent snorkelling in crystal clear water, riding bikes around the island and enjoying long dinners by the beach.
Gili Air is also home to some beautiful boutique villas and private pool accommodation that feel luxurious without the crowds often found in busier tourist areas.
One of my favourite things about Gili Air is how easy it is to completely relax. It has a peaceful energy that makes it hard not to slow down and enjoy island life.
The other thing I love about Gili Air is the amazing turtles. They are so much larger on Gili Air and if you snorkel of a morning they all come to have a lovely feed on the sea grass in the shallows.
